Executive Cover Letter & Resume Fax Delivery

Fast - Personalized - Confidential

With your cover letter and resume finalized and the recruiters selected, we then transmit your documents by high-resolution facsimile. The entire process through transmission can occur within 48 hours after your first call to us, if necessary.

The cover letter is individually addressed with the specific recruiter's name and the executive search firm name. This fax-merged format, similar to mail merge, personalizes your message for immediate attention and response. Your signature is imbedded so it appears that you personally signed each letter. There is no reference to SearchFAX™ anywhere on the documents, written or electronic. The documents appear to have come directly from you.

There is NO better way to deliver & highlight your documents this quickly.

SearchFAX™ fully utilizes a network of state-of-the-art hardware. From start to finish, we orchestrate cutting-edge technology in scanning, word processing, database management, image manipulation, and high-resolution outbound faxing for the jobseeker to realize a competitive edge NOW!

Why Fax an Executive Resume?

Primarily we use high-resolution fax because of the experience of our founder, Stu Travis. When he was out of his office in a meeting, faxes that were addressed to him were placed on his chair. He would sit on them if he did not notice they were there. And when he returned after a period out of the office, the fax transmissions were in a "FAX" manila file on top of his in-basket. The fax received attention similar to a telegram.

The Competition: WHY Fax versus E-Mail or Postal Mail?

A recent study by a major recruiting firm, published in The Wall Street Journal, stated that the average search firm receives over 4000 e-mails per week, and a backlash is beginning. Obviously, a senior executive recruiter is not reviewing these. Since the Melissa virus of 1999, many search firms will not download any attachments unless they specifically requested them. While many companies provide e-mail resume distribution programs for $39.00 to nearly $300.00, our clients report the results at the executive level have been unimpressive.

Differentiation from this resume deluge could make the difference in your success.

Differentiate or WAIT.

Look to your own experience and imagine any person or team tasked with reading, much less analyzing, 4000 emails a week. Where do YOU think they go?

Also, with nearly 2000 "postal snail-mailed" resumes received per office per week, most go directly to "research", and a "black hole." According to this same study referenced above, unsolicited fax transmission was "barely measurable." Why? SearchFAX is the only company that faxes to the correct recruiters at the right firms based on specific selection criteria.

Postal Costs: "Postal snail-mail" can cost between $1.50 to $3.00 per destination just to physically produce and mail. A premium...for this slow method...to get you a place in the PILE...assuming the correct destinations could be identified.

Email costs and Effectiveness: The costs to transmit a resume by email are low. Industry-wide...that ensures an un-targeted broadcast to those recruiters willing to accept a deluge. The low costs to send are too tempting for the industry. Due to the amazing inflow of these resumes, you can only assume that few, if any, of the thousands will be read by a firm from whom you might actually benefit. Email resume distribution may accomplish the goal of getting you into the lower-level recruiters' resume databases. Your end goal, however, is not merely to get into the database of lower-level recruiters. That goal alone would require a subsequent resume database keyword search by the executive recruiter using precisely matched terms to retrieve your file before a recruiter could notice you enough to warrant follow-up communication. Some individuals will say that executive opportunities do originate from the database at search firms. However, the odds do not support insertion into a resume database via email as a primary or solo means to your goal at the executive and senior executive level.

A serious executive career search must take actions to secure the executive recruiters' attention and to demonstrate qualities of the successful candidate. The goal remains to receive an interview and then an offer. We and our clients have found that Email will not produce results like targeted fax delivery for senior level positions.

"Your observation that e-mailing resumes doesn’t work whereas faxing them does is correct. My responses within 24 hours are greater than the total responses from my previous two e-mail programs. I find this a strange twist on what you would expect, given all the hype nowadays on electronic commerce – Actually, I find it a welcome twist." -- C.K., Attorney, Maritime Law
